How would you like to be remembered when you die? What blueprint would you like to leave here? What is your life wisdom?

This is the question we also asked 13 wise women from Knokke-Heist. In Japan, they call this life wisdom "Ikigai", but also in Knokke-Heist we have received wise answers. It is these connecting qualities that have brought these women together. If you can touch this mission in a person, you will capture the portrait.

A recumbent concert is something special. In Vichte, on 5 and 8 November, people came to listen to the soothing music of Steven Vrancken, while lying down in an old church.

About ten families got ready for the recital in the old church in Vichte. Lying down with your eyes closed you could take in the music of Steven Vrancken. It was a musical journey through the imagination. One hour of soothing sounds from acoustic instruments.

Afterwards, the works "Resonancia", painted to the music of Steven Vrancken, is exhibited.

STEVEN VRANCKEN in CONCERT @ BRUGES on 21 May 2016

"Home-grown talent! Sometimes reminiscent of Wim Mertens, Philip Glass, Yann Tiersen, Nils Frahm, Arvo Pärt,... but above all always true to himself".

A special day, because on 21 May, it will be exactly 8 years ago that my musical adventure began with my first concert in Lier, in a small cosy hall behind the station. Music that I have been able to play for years in many places in Belgium, but also in the Netherlands, France, Mexico and recently in India.

That evening will also be a musical journey through my musical work of the last 8 years: new interpretations from my albums 'Into resonance' and 'Resonancia II', with references to the new double CD that will be released then, and with tasters of new music for a second album later this year.

Several songs will be richly accompanied by the beautiful voice of Anja Louisa Desmet (Keruna) and by that of Edwin Vanvinckenroye plus his dynamic & imaginative violin playing. There will also be at least one painting by artist Kristel Van den Eynden on display, which she made while listening to 'Resonancia II'.
