The Future is Female: Photography, Katrine Orlans.

vernissage 31/03/18

Throughout the centuries, women had a subordinate role in society.
In Art, too, she was long depicted as a character of servitude and submission. Being prepared for marriage and bearing children. The woman was pushed into a role, the man often determined which role. For "The Future is Female", photographer Katrien Orlans gets strong women in front of her lens. Each and every one women who knows what they want. Both the photographer and the model.

To what extent is the woman willing to give herself to the photographer?
Does the woman play a role?
And if she does play a role, how does she want to be seen and why?

The exhibition runs until 1 June 2018
